Job Summary

The Executive Director of Oncology Services and Cell and Gene Therapy is responsible for managing and administrating all facets of the clinical oncology and Cell and Gene therapy program, including all federal/state regulatory compliance requirements. This Executive Director is the leader of the comprehensive program of patient care delivery related to oncology and cell and gene therapy, encompassing the adult and pediatric oncology clinics, the stem cell transplant program, radiation oncology, cell gene therapy, supportive oncology, Cancer Clinic Infusion Centers, and outpatient stem cell and gene therapies used for the treatment of Cancer and non-oncology related diseases. The Executive Director partners with division and hospital leadership, Adult and Pediatric Infusion Centers, Pharmacy, and medical directors to maintain program excellence, fiscal health, accreditation, and program growth.The total FTE supervised either directly or indirectly by this position is 398. The position is responsible for an annual expense budget of $153M and with projected gross revenues of $1B.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in hospital administration, business administration or health-related field.
  • Prior experience in Oncology Services leadership required, 5 years preferred.
  • This position requires interactions with high-level federal and state government official's arid executives with external organizations. In addition to these leaders, interactions with faculty, administrative and clinical staff, Health system executive staff and campus leadership require excellent communication skills, political acumen, sensitivity, and tact.
  • Presentations and discussions with executives and key stakeholders require preparedness and strategic planning/thinking.
  • Proven leadership, managerial and excellent communication skills to direct clinical, administrative, and technical staff support.
  • Experience with initiative and developing programs and effectively evaluating opportunities.
  • Ability to exercise exemplary tact, diplomacy, and political sensitivity.
  • Basic knowledge of clinical care is required to provide direction to Comprehensive Cancer Center clinical staff and to address patient care issues.
  • Presentation skills and prior experience in creating and presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Motivational and managerial leadership skills to foster a creative and dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations.
