Sr. Database Administrator

BigBear.ai is seeking a Sr. Database Administrator (Sr. DBA) to work as part of the infrastructure team to ensure optimal operation of each of the databases across our AWS environment, to include performance tuning and support development teams in line with client requirements. Proactive and able to identify troubleshoot issues, proposing solutions in coordination with broader teams.

• Ensure optimal operation of databases across the AWS environment
• Perform performance tuning and support development teams
• Identify and troubleshoot database issues, proposing solutions in coordination with broader teams

• Clearance: Must maintain an active TS clearance
• 5+ years of experience in implementing, performance tuning, and supporting databases, with a focus on PostgreSQL
• Proficient in general troubleshooting, database maintenance activities such as backup and recovery, capacity planning, and managing user accounts
• Skilled in identifying and documenting risk areas and mitigation strategies for processes and procedures
• Expertise in managing schemas, indexing, objects, and partitioning tables
• Experience in managing system configurations
• Capable of creating data design models, database architecture, and data repository design
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
• Strong interpersonal skills to identify requirements and deliver results

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Previous experience working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation
• Proficient in AWS services and capabilities, including Relational Database Service, Data Migration Service, CloudWatch monitoring and alerting, snapshot management, database log interpretation, networking, and security group maintenance
• Experience in creating, managing, and implementing PostgreSQL extensions
• Skilled in using pgAdmin and pgSQL
• Experience in performing data migrations and database conversions (e.g., Oracle to PostgreSQL)
