Overview
The Department of Political Science at Utah State University invites applications for a acadmeic year, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Political Science beginning August 2025. We seek candidates who are broadly trained in political theory. The area of specialization is open. Application review will begin October 15, 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include a primary role in research, high quality teaching at both the master's and undergraduate levels, and service. Preference will be given to those with a strong research trajectory and demonstrated interest in teaching courses of need in the department, including introductory and upper division courses in political theory, including in the candidate's area of specialization. The anticipated teaching load is two classes per semester.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Political Science as of employment date
  • Candidates must demonstrate accomplishments and/or clear potential for success in research
  • Candidates must demonstrate accomplishments and/or clear potential for success in teaching
  • The successful candidate must generate a satisfactory outcome on a background check
