Description Nursing/Clinical Support
The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program with MaineHealth, in partnership with Southern Maine Community College is now accepting applications! This 9 month programis a mix of classroom and clinical training. Classes are held one day per week (Tuesdays) at the SMCC campus (w/an additional 8-12 hrs of online coursework/homework each week). In addition, apprentices work 24 hours/week at a MaineHealth outpatient practice in the Greater Portland area (paid $18/hr @ 40 hrs week, plus full-time benefits). Candidates who are selected for the program will receive full financial support for schooling, including textbooks and other materials. Students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in a variety of settings and specialties! *Application deadline date: 12/11/2024 Summary: Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Active enrollment and advancement with a grade of C or better in an approved Medical Assisting Apprenticeship Program required. 2. License/Certifications: Current BLS certification required or must be obtained prior to clinical training. NH Med Tech License is required for those positions located in New Hampshire. 3.
