Job Description:

Educator-RN-Full-Time

  • Serves as an educator for primarily nursing but also various disciplines throughout the hospital and independently assumes a variety of roles in the Education Department
  • Included in this multifunctional role are the responsibilities of planning, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating house-wide classes, patient care orientation, continuing education and in-service education and working with multidisciplinary teams as needed.
  • Will be responsible for assigned units
  • Works collaboratively with other Educators and Department Leaders to enhance the competencies of the staff.
  • Participates in planning educational programs utilizing the most recent research publications, practice changes and principles of adult learning.
  • Develops and provides ongoing coaching to preceptors and/or new employees.
  • Facilitator for new employee Clinical Orientation, and certification/re-certification courses for all employees.
  • Develops Clinical Orientation curriculum and revises as needed based on feedback.
  • May oversee CNA program based on Medicare standards.
  • Facilitates and participates in various other educational endeavors as indicated which support the overall goals of the Education Department.
  • Works collaboratively with the American Heart Association (AHA) training center to assure appropriate delivery and documentation relevant to ACLS, BLS & PALS endeavors at Baptist Health Corbin.
  • Supports the hospital and the Education Department's mission and values
  • Ability to identify the scope of practice issues, prioritization, critical thinking, effective decision making, communication, interpersonal relationship skills, delegation and team leading skills consistent with the level of professional growth.
  • Adheres to specific hospital policy and procedures.
  • Other assigned duties may apply

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, BSN Required
  • Current RN license in the state of Kentucky or Kentucky work permit.
  • Certifications based on the unit worked:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS
