Job Description:

The Sr. System Engineer (HPE) for our CCA (Caribbean Central America) Organization will be responsible for complex engineering for computer systems and/or storage environments, along with related network considerations and infrastructure applications, whether on-premises or in the cloud.

Ensures builds are consistent with architectural standards and will meet specified needs.

Independently makes important decisions regarding engineering, configuration, monitoring, capacity planning and problem resolution that could affect million dollar project delivery or the successful execution of business transactions for several hours.

Ensures backout plans are created and executable in the event of an implementation problem.

Directs and trains System Engineers and Associate Engineers to meet workload demands.

Continually updates skillset and stays abreast of technologies trends and developments.

What You'll Do:
  • Designs, configures, and implements complex regional compute and storage solutions to enable new business opportunities, support organic growth and small to moderate M&A, and to implement and improve new application services (40%)

  • Provides full operational support for global and regional infrastructure services that execute revenue-generating applications, colleague productivity tools, back office systems, and customer support, with rare assistance from more senior engineers in mission critical and/or extremely complex situations (20%)

  • Works with project managers to prioritize work, and provides structure and direction to Engineers and Associate Engineers as necessary to meet team commitments (15%)

  • Builds and updates systems automation and monitoring tools (15%)

  • Performs other additional duties as assigned (10%)

What We're Looking For:
  • Associate Degree with Systems Engineering or Related field of study required.

  • 3+ Years of relevant work experience.

  • Proficient in English (level B2 or higher) required.

  • Able to execute instructions and to request clarification when needed.

  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.

  • Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Able to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.

  • Able to create and conduct formal presentations.

  • Able to negotiate skillfully, promote/sell ideas persuasively, and close transactions with mutually beneficial results.

  • Possesses strong multi-cultural interpersonal skills.

  • Possesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.

  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.

  • Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.

  • Able to maintain and promote social, ethical, and organizational standards in conducting internal and external business activities.

  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Able to build solid, effective working relationships with others.

  • Able to exhibit ability to be sensitive to the needs, concerns, and feelings of others.

  • Able to quickly learn new systems and technology.

  • Able to use relevant computer system applications at an advanced level.

Working Conditions:
  • Professional Office environment (Remote).

  • On-call availability required as necessary.

  • Consistent non-standard work hours or overtime as business requires.

  • Some travel required.

  • Represents the company to the customer and the customer to the company in all sales-oriented activities.
