Summary:

The Senior Instructional Designer performs a variety of instructional design functions related to planning, development, and delivery of courses for both related to manufacturing. Works with instructional technology tools to design interactive learning content. Manages multiple projects working with subject matter experts to design and build face-to-face and online courses. Research instructional design theories and tools for applicability in learning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops or updates courses, instructional materials and other digital instructional information consistent with adult learning theory for delivery in online learning, hybrid courses and face-to face courses. Confirms course objectives are current and reflected in newly developed courses.

  • Assists subject matter experts in defining course outcomes and objectives. Designs and develops engaging, interactive and instructionally sound materials that address various learning styles and are accessible to all trainees.

  • Designs and produces learning materials in a variety of formats, including print, graphics, audio, video, animation, and multimedia using the ADDIE model, to support teaching, learning and Entegris initiatives

  • Serves as project manager and collaborates with subject matter experts, team members, media specialists, digital media and producers to solve technological and institutional challenges.

  • Utilizes digital tools for project management. Manages the Learning Management System to ensure quality of course development, tools, test accessibility and compliance.

  • Trains and supports all levels of management and operations in the use of the Learning Management System.

  • Researches and learns new technologies and applications to assist with course design.

  • Completes professional development to keep current with rapid changes in technology and higher education.

  • Creates evaluation and administers tools to measure course and program effectiveness.

  • 80% time spent in instructional design, 20% on Learning Management System

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the manager.

Qualifications (Education, Training, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Physical Requirements):

  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously with varying departments.

  • Ability to adapt training design and delivery to different audiences and learning styles.

  • Ability to lead and motivate a project team, manage project resources, and drive collaboration.

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Curriculum Development, Communications or Education. Maters preferred.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and scenario design

  • Experience in learning design and content development, with demonstrable experience in writing effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts that support learning objectives.

  • Experience of delivering training to a range of learner audiences

  • Experience of designing and developing e-learning solutions and software tools, such as Articulate Storyline and Rise, Captivate, and/or Camtasia

  • Working knowledge in MS Office Suite (especially PowerPoint)

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external subject matter experts and other stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Instructional Systems Design (ISD) desired

  • ATD Instructional Design certifications or similar certifications
