Daikin Applied is seeking a Facilities Engineer responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and alteration of the site facilities, support equipment, infrastructure, and grounds by performing the duties listed below personally or through subordinate supervisors, technicians, or contractors.

Location: In office, Staunton, VA.

What you will do:



  • Assist and coordinate facility operations team and vendors in routine and emergency situations to ensure facility needs are met and services are delivered safely and appropriately
  • Assist and coordinate facilities maintenance personnel and contractors engaged in equipment installation, facilities modifications, equipment repair, and preventative maintenance activities
  • Coordinate cafeteria, vending, and other food service vendors to support the site work force
  • Foster innovation and continuous operations improvement through the implementation of industry best practices, process efficiency improvements, and identification and use of industry trends and tools that contribute to our operation excellence goals
  • Plan and execute facilities modifications, maintenance, and repairs
  • Gather bids and prepare cost estimates, Capital Approval Requests, evaluations, layouts, initial designs, project management, and vendor contracts
  • Inspect facilities including systems, infrastructure, grounds, and evaluate maintenance and repair of these items
  • Participate in the planning, organization, maintenance, and execution of a site space utilization plan
  • Operate, maintain, and repair building automation and support systems including HVAC, lighting, fire alarm, security, badge access
  • Partner with IT department to install, maintain, and repair low voltage wiring including IT network cable, fire alarm system, and security system
  • Work cross functionally to plan, schedule, and execute the site Facilities' Operations & Maintenance and Capital Project budget
  • Work cross functionally to develop and maintain current and long-range site plans, office layouts, conceptual designs, and capital outlay requirements and documentation for the site
  • Formulate and coordinate specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts, and associated documents for maintenance, repairs, and facility modifications
  • Liaison and interact with the public utility, environmental, municipal, and energy agencies
  • Inspect project progress to ensure conformance to established specifications and local codes and regulations
  • Review real estate contracts in support of the site for compliance with company specifications and suitability for occupancy
  • Assist in planning and execution of customer visits and employee events
  • Oversee and manage all facility support functions and related tasks

Minimum Qualifications:



  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ year of related experience
