OverviewMicrosoft Mixed Reality is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Product Development and Mechanical Engineering team at our Mountain View, CA campus. The candidate should be a motivated self-starter who will thrive in this fast-paced technical environment. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will create and refine mechanical part designs through full product development cycles, from ideation to mass production. This work involves integrating optical and electronic assemblies with mechanisms and mechanical enclosures to create great augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) experiences. To do this, you will be asked to balance the needs of customers, budget, schedule and product requirements while communicating effectively across partner teams. You will create mechanical drawings, work with overseas manufacturers, and refine your designs through prototype builds and reliability validation. Responsibilities Develops, reviews, and executes on test plans.Assists in setting up and breaking down testing environments with guidance from other engineers. Follows safety guidelines.Assists in the development of basic prototype hardware components for use in development, testing, or validation of new product features under guidance from other engineers.Assists in evaluating prototypes for the purpose of innovating, optimizing and maturing designs.Analyzes and interprets results of data analyses to identify common problems or flaws that may affect a feature or product design change and brings them to the attention of other engineers or team leads.Records test data and conducts basic data/statistical analysis to identify issues with the design.Embody our Culture & Values | |
