Senior Technology Transition and Decommission (T&D) System Engineer

Peraton is hiring a Senior Technology T&D Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. As a Systems Engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location.

As a Technology T&D Systems Engineer on our team, you will support the customer in managing the transition and decommission of legacy technologies. Transition activities include managing and supporting the technology transition office process, monitoring and measuring progress through the process, identifying risks and recommending mitigations, and supporting planning activities. Customer support requests are evaluated by the Government to determine alignment with its scope and objectives. Discrete task descriptions are created for all requests and are used for tracking and to enable contractor assignments. You will provide systems engineering expertise in researching systems, services and capabilities to be decommissioned or transitioned and documenting the known details and artifacts to enable decision making by the stakeholders and capability owners.

This role involves planning, monitoring, and generating systems engineering artifacts to assist the government with facilitating technology transition into and out of the capabilities architecture, and works with the government to facilitate, lead and document decision meetings to engage stakeholders in accomplishing the work.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline and at least 15 years of systems engineering experience. A Master's or PhD Degree may be substituted for two years of experience. Note: A High School Diploma or GED plus 19 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
• Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Operational experience with customer systems.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:

• Familiarity with the customer's environment, domains, programs and projects. Of note, especially helpful if familiar with customer acquisition process and required documentation such as an Operational Capability Statement.
• Significant experience with Intelligence Community customers, their missions and infrastructures.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers.
• Demonstrated customer interface experience in eliciting technical requirements.
• Experience working on project development from requirements definition to deployment.
