Platform Engineers (x2)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer with expertise in Azure and AWS to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining our Internal Developer Platform (IDP). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in platform engineering, DevOps practices, and a passion for creating streamlined, scalable 'infrastructure as code' experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a greendfield initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) by partnering with cross functional internal development team members to build products and tools, using the right language/tool for the job, that drive valuable impact to our customers and fellow engineers.
  • Excellent ability to understand product requirements in the context of a scalable platform. You first think about users rather than the best technical solution.
  • Architect CI/CD pipelines, automation workflows, and infrastructure as code (IaC) designed for seamless deployment and operation of IDP and customer team services many times daily.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of the platform through monitoring, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Establish and enforce best practices in DevOps, security, and compliance across the entire organization.
  • Develop IaC solutions to manage and administer Azure and AWS cloud environments, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance, and security.
  • Own your technical solutions end-to-end from contributing your ideas, to first code commit, to operating in production.
  • Engage with internal customer teams to analyze existing operational standards, processes, and governance to identify and implement improvements and new solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer having built or worked on multiple internal developer platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and GitOps/SecOps/DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).
  • Knowledge of serverless computing and event-driven pipelines and architectures.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
