Job Description
The Loss Prevention Supervisor ensures the safety and security of all guests, associates, and property at Omni Tempe Hotel. Combining traditional security responsibilities with loss prevention strategies, this role oversees day-to-day operations to minimize risk, respond to incidents, and uphold hotel standards. The Loss Prevention Supervisor will lead by example, train the team, and act as a liaison between the Loss Prevention team and hotel leadership.
Responsibilities
Supervise the daily activities of the Loss Prevention team, ensuring coverage and proper execution of duties.
- Conduct safety and security patrols of the hotel premises, including guest floors, back-of-house areas, and parking facilities.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, or thefts, and document findings in detailed incident reports.
- Ensure compliance with hotel security policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV) and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Conduct and oversee safety drills, including fire evacuation and active shooter scenarios, in coordination with local authorities.
- Train new Loss Prevention associates and provide ongoing coaching to enhance team performance.
- Partner with other hotel departments to identify and address loss prevention concerns, such as inventory shrinkage or unauthorized access.
- Respond to emergency situations promptly, ensuring the safety of guests and associates.
- Ensure all security and safety equipment is in proper working order, reporting maintenance needs as necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel security or loss prevention, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and the role of security in guest service and loss prevention.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage conflict and remain calm under pressure.
- Proficiency in using surveillance equipment and security technology.
- Working knowledge of local safety regulations and emergency procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
- Flexible schedule required, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as needed.
- Frequent walking, standing, and patrolling for extended periods.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor elements during patrols or emergency responses.
