Structural Mechanic V - Special Missions - Weekend Shiftin GAC Savannah Unique Skills: Special Mission's Stuctural V will operate in a team-oriented work environment and independently perform a variety of structural assembly tasks. Candidate must be able to use required tools, prints and follow operational requirements in order to complete work assignments ensuring conformance to certain specifications. Assist and instruct other team members when needed. Perform work in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards and meet customer expectations. A Special Mission Structural V candidate should have the ability to visualize, interpret and complete complex sheet metal structures found within the cabin of the aircraft. They should have experience working on the aircraft. They should possess the ability to piece together and complete parts containing many different layers, which special mission aircraft routinely contain. They should demonstrate a certain amount of finesse when working on parts having a cosmetic component to them. Structural V candidate must be familiar with industry practices, including Edge distance requirements, fasteners pitch and parts layout. They must be familiar with aircraft reference system to include fuselage station, Waterline and Centerline. Candidate must be familiar with steps needed to have work evaluated and bought off by inspection. Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 8 years aviation sheet-metal and/or fabrication experience to include at least 1 year of aerospace heavy structures modification such as Special Missions. Valid Driver's License required.
Position Purpose:
The Special Missions Structural Mech V is a technical expert that works with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness under minimal supervision to safely fabricate and install parts equipment and fabricated items on aircraft following established operating procedures.
