Description: Position Summary The Academic Advisor serves as the primary point of contact for students seeking academic and student services in their college. Academic Advisors assist students in developing an academic plan from their orientation to graduation; to achieve their personal and professional goals including providing information on degree programs, and certificates; course selection; and other academic options, such as study abroad, research opportunities, internships, service learning, living, and learning communities, etc. May develop curriculum, teach, and provide direct instructional support for First Year Seminar Courses and other campus development classes. Duties & Responsibilities Pay and Benefits: The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints. A minimum of one year of professional work experience required. Strong business acumen, along with presentation, interpersonal, management, communication and analytical skills. Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize effectively. Ability to handle a high volume of work, execute multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent communication, organization, presentation and computer/pc skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, along with other related software. Preferred Qualifications Professional work experience in university student services preferred. Knowledge of business curricula and student development theory preferred. Demonstrated work experience in student/academic advising, counseling, or other related field in an institution of higher learning preferred. Proficiency in Banner and iAdvise/Starfish. Familiarity with student development theory and FERPA preferred.
