VPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space and industrial applications, is seeking a full-time Material Quality Associate for their office in Blacksburg, Va.

Summary:

This position in the Quality Department will report to the Material Quality Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent communication skills, and have strong Manufacturing Inventory Control experience.

Essential Functions:



  • Coordinate with Planning/Production Teams to support manufacturing schedules
  • Compiling component/material kids and documentation for manufacturing builds
  • Distributing materials to manufacturing and engineering personnel
  • Business System management and processing for Inventory and Manufacturing related items
  • Support Inventory counts/audits
  • Support the control of all LLM (Limited Life Materials)
  • Support the control of all MSL (Moisture Sensitive Level) components
  • Professionally communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support procurement efforts of components and material orders for manufacturing and testing
  • Receiving of incoming components and materials
  • Maintain record retention of component and material data
  • Incoming inspection of electrical and mechanical components
  • Controlling and documenting nonconforming material reports



Competencies:



  • Manufacturing Inventory Control experience
  • Strong ERP experience
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and follow priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn quickly and efficiently
  • Contribute process improvements to support the team effort

Required Education and Experience:



  • Associates degree required (will consider experience in lieu of degree)



Preferred Education and Experience:



  • Experience with measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc. is preferred
  • Experience working in an AS9100 or ISO9001 environment
