Prairie Parkway Physical Therapy - Outpatient

Monday-Friday (Clinic hours 7am-5pm)

The speech pathologist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic speech, language, communicative, audiological, cognitive services,feeding services, habilitation, and testing to infants, toddlers, school-aged, and adoloscents in the outpatient setting. The speech pathologist is responsible for implementing and improving quality speech and language pathology services and providing appropriate documentation and billing for such services.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluates and treats patients in need of therapeutic speech, language, audiological, communicative, and cognitive rehabilitation testing and services and participates in and provides all necessary components of this responsibility including completion of proper evaluation, creation of a treatment plan, and completion of treatment sessions per established treatment plans
  • Produces appropriate documentation and billing incompliance with all third party payor and regulatory guidelines.
  • Completes appropriate communication with all patients, caregivers, fellow staff, and referring providers/clinicians.
  • Oversees Speech Pathology students and/or CFY interns as assigned. According to licensure laws, is professionally accountable for overseeing delegated clinical skills of the Assistant and Therapy Technician.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited speech pathology program.
  • One year of experience or internships within pediatric setting preferred.
  • Clinical Internship.
  • Current or in the process of obtaining licensure to practice Speech Pathology in the State of Iowa as defined in the Iowa Speech Pathologists and Audiologists Regulation and Practice Act.
  • Licensed to practice Speech Pathology in the State of Iowa as defined in the Iowa Speech Pathologists and Audiologists Regulation and Practice Act.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence for Speech-Language Pathologists (CCC-SLP)
