We are currently accepting applications for a Senior Associate in Transaction Advisory Services that will support our firm nationwide. As a Senior Associate, you will be a vital member of the team managing and executing financial diligence project work.

The Senior Associate can be based in any of the following US office locations (Boston, MA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Princeton, NJ; East Brunswick, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Whippany, NJ; Saddle Brook, NJ; Bethesda, MD; Los Angeles, CA; Orange County, CA; San Francisco, CA) or remotely anywhere within the US.

How You'll Spend Your Time:



  • Analyze target company data and build data books and financial models for financial due diligence engagements
  • Coordinate with project team leaders on diligence focus areas and provide real-time communications of issues and deal considerations
  • Participate in management discussions regarding business performance and key questions developed during the data analysis phase
  • Work with project team leaders to evaluate quality of earnings, normalized working capital, and items affecting future cash flows
  • Prepare concise and meaningful analysis to be used in our reports that set out our findings and recommendations around the key financial and business issues in a transaction
  • Identify integration, separation and post-transaction transition issues
  • Participate in relevant marketing and business development activities
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of M&A best practices


Skills and Attributes For Success:



  • Project management of financial due diligence engagements
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational results of businesses to be acquired or sold through reviewing accounting records, understanding the drivers of the business and conducting interviews with management
  • Constantly researching industry trends and technologies, as well as seasonality and cyclicality on cash flow requirements to provide knowledge and insight to clients
  • High competencies with data interrogation techniques using excel and/or other software packages


The Kinds of People We Want to Talk To:



  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 2+ years of related (M&A) work experience; supported by an active CPA certification or working towards obtaining the CPA certification
  • Significant public accounting experience
  • Excellent analytical skills and the confidence to translate complex data into meaningful insights
  • The ability to prioritize effectively on projects and the skills to adapt quickly to new challenges and concepts
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships both internally and externally
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 40% on short notice


Ideally, you'll also have:



  • A proven record of excellence in a mergers or acquisitions transactions role
  • Experience gained within another large professional services organization
  • Established networking skills in a relevant industry


The compensation for this position will vary by location. If you reside in California, Washington State, Washington, D.C. or NYC, please see below. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience and qualifications. NYC ranges are $110,000- $130,000 annually
California ranges are $110,000- $130,000 annually
Washington - Seattle ranges are $110,000- $130,000 annually
Washington DC ranges are $110,000- $130,000 annually
Maryland - Baltimore ranges are $110,000- $130,000 annually
Rhode Island - Providence ranges are $110,000- $130,000 annually
Massachusetts ranges are $110,000- $130,000 annually
