EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required
- Education
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
- Experience
3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse including 3 years in a trauma designated emergency room or critical care experience.
- Licenses and Certifications
(RN) REGISTERED NURSE (or BNE Compact State) license Upon Hire and (ACLS) ADV CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA), or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire and (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA), or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire and (ENPC) EMER NUR PED COURSE course accredited by American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Upon Hire or (PALS) PEDS ADVANCED LIFE SUPPOR course accredited by American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Upon Hire and (TNCC) TRAUMA NURSING CORE COURS - Current Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification, course accredited by Emergency Nurses association Upon Hire or Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses (ATCN) certification, course accredited by Society of Trauma Nurses (STN). Upon Hire and Completion of Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course (Topic) at hire or within 180 Days and Completion of Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine's (AAMC) Automotive Injury Severity Score (AISS) or course equivalent within 180 Days

JOB DUTIES
- Works with the Trauma Program Manager to provide leadership for the Trauma Program in terms of operations, services, and patient care, consistent with best practices and evidence-based care. Serves as an active member of the trauma team overseeing coordinated care of the trauma patient in terms of injury prevention, health promotion, and rehabilitation.
- Participates in development and revisions of the Trauma Program policy and procedures.
- Responds to emergency room trauma activations to provide timely and proactive feedback to teams with the focus of prioritizing care that maximizes outcomes while meeting regulatory requirements.
- Reviews daily emergency room census reports to identify potential trauma patients.
- Identifies, reviews, tracks, and supports, trauma care throughout the continuum of care for each patient that meets trauma criteria from prehospital to discharge to determine compliance with established practice management guidelines and National Trauma Data Standards (NTDB).
- Documents daily primary case reviews, action plans, and loop closure in the trauma registry and other platforms.
- Participates in local, regional, and state trauma meetings through the RAC and GETAC.
- Provides feedback to outside facilities and EMS.
- Assist with Trauma Pediatric Readiness.
- Assist with trauma education and competency validation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
