The Role: As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Job Scheduling Workload Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the various environments (Prod, non-Prod) of the Job Scheduling platform are installed, configured and working as designed. Jobs are executing successfully based on their definitions; files, directories, scheduling logs, system logs are well maintained, monitored and backed up where applicable. In addition, you will be working closely with the infrastructure team (and other teams - network, information-security) to ensure that the infrastructure that the job scheduling environments are hosted on are well maintained, and following a patch/update/maintenance schedule, right level of monitoring is in place for early detection of potential anomalies (i.e. log file full) that might arise. From a vendor perspective, you will be working closely with the vendor of the job scheduling software and their development team in responding to software bugs and anomalies that need to be addressed through deploying software service packs or upgrading software versions in pre-prod and eventually production environments. In parallel, you will be part of a team responsible for managing the day-to-day aspects of the Job Scheduling service that includes but not limited to, the creating/testing/scheduling of batch jobs for our business application teams. Through the firm's ticketing system, taking on requests for creating (or updating existing) new jobs based on specific requirements and eventually promoting these to the production workload platform. You are part of the team responsible for providing a job scheduling service offering to the firm's business application requirements. You will be part of a team responsible for monitoring critical ticket queue ensuring calls & tickets are managed in a timely manner. You will help drive service improvement through effective metric setting and expanding the value and capabilities of the Job Scheduling service. This is position is eligible for remote. Salary Transparency The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
