Practice Coordinator Orthotics & Prosthetic Full Time 82406BR Job Summary Under direct supervision of the Practice Manager and guided by the protocols of the Orthotic and Prosthetic Department, the Administrative Assistant II (Receptionist) functions as the primary in-person contact for patients requiring care at the Orthotic and Prosthetic clinics. Responsibilities include scheduling, check in, collecting co-payments, registering patients, verifying insurance/eligibility, requesting insurance checks from authorization team, collecting forms from patients, and explaining financial information. The Administrative Assistant II (Receptionist) is knowledgeable about UCSF's appointment and patient registration system (Apex). The incumbent will also obtain prescription information from patients, and must be able to abstract clinical data from medical records to answer insurance questions. The department has over 250 academic and staff personnel at multiple sites (University of California - UC, Mt. Zion, Mission Bay - MB, San Francisco General Hospital - SFGH, and San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center - SFVAMC).
