Post Doctoral Associate SCI-Informatics and Networked Systems - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - ( 24002142 ) Dr. Yu-Ru Lin at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Computing and Information seeks a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to research in the area of social network modeling. This project aims to develop a modeling framework that integrates complex network and socio-cognitive theories to capture the coupled dynamics of individual choices and collective decision-making that influence group dynamics and conflicts in social networks. The research will focus on: ? Developing dynamical system models for simulating social influence; ? Incorporating socio-cognitive theories into the network models; ? Developing analysis tools for analyzing large-scale behavioral and network data. This is a full-time, non-tenure track postdoctoral associate position for one year, with the possibility of being extended to two years based on performance. This position provides the opportunity to work in a highly interdisciplinary research team. This position is housed at the Pitt Computational Social Dynamic (PICSO) Lab, which has a long-standing tradition of providing a stimulating learning and research environment. Required Qualifications ? Hold a Ph.D. in applied mathematics, statistical physics, data science, computer science, computational social science, or a related field; ? Prior research experience and strong technical skills in dynamic network modeling, including but not limited to multilayer network approaches, Bayesian inference analyses, stochastic epidemic modeling, and modeling of opinion formation and information diffusion Preferred Qualifications ? Demonstrate a strong interest in transdisciplinary research and share our team's commitment to diversity and social equity; ? Excellent communication and writing skills.
