Summary

Corporate Functional Area Leader (CFAL) - Supply Chain

As a Corporate Functional Area Leader (CFAL) in Supply Chain, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the consistency and effectiveness of supply chain operations across functional areas such as Strategic Procurement, Materials Management, Inventory & Logistics, Investment Recovery, Work Management, Safety, and cross-functional Business Units. Your expertise will drive the development and implementation of standardized policies, procedures, and work practices, ensuring alignment and compliance at all levels of the organization. You'll work collaboratively with leadership across the APS network to maximize the value of Supply Chain assets while enhancing operational efficiency and consistency

This position offers a unique developmental opportunity designed to rotate employees through leadership roles across various business units over a period of one to three years, providing broad exposure and fostering professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Standardization Leadership: Develop and implement consistent policies, procedures, and work practices across Supply Chain functional areas to ensure alignment and compliance at all organizational levels.

Organizational Coordination: Partner with leaders across the APS network to drive standardization efforts, ensuring seamless execution and operational alignment.

Optimization of Resources: Leverage Supply Chain assets to maximize value and efficiency across the organization, ensuring sustainable practices and continuous improvement.

Guidance & Oversight: Provide expert recommendations and guidance to Supply Chain management, fostering best practices and operational excellence.

Collaborative Execution: Work closely with cross-functional leaders to align strategies and ensure effective application of standardized processes.

Leadership Development: Participate in rotational assignments across business units, gaining hands-on experience in diverse leadership roles and expanding your expertise in Supply Chain operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalentplus eleven (11) years' experience in Supply Chain operations or related experience


OR



  • Bachelor's degreeplusseven (7) years' experience in Supply Chain or related experience.

    • Equivalent industry experience will be considered in place of specific Supply Chain experience.


  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication and project management skills.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of utility operations activities.
  • Working knowledge of functional area systems, technology, facilities, and components.
  • Knowledge of general operating practices and procedures and industry operating standards.


Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge, or Qualifications:

Ability to develop procedures and ensure procedures are followed.

Must have the ability to work effectively in matrixed teams to accomplish business results across multiple departments.

Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration within and out of their organization.

LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a preferred requirement.

Major Accountabilities

1) Provides oversight and guidance to Supply Chain management and employees to include standardized operating policies, programs and procedures across the Supply Chain function.

2) Provides leadership, development and supports execution of standardized operating standards, fundamentals, procedures, and policies.

3) Benchmark to obtain Industry Best Practices. Utilize results to improve operating programs for Supply Chain operations.

4) Responsible for the development, refinement, and execution of functional area tools. Periodically review and assess current programs/procedures ensuring that we are leveraging the assets. Make recommendations for improvement.

5) Lead regularly scheduled meetings with Supply Chain management and applicable department personnel.

6) Support troubleshooting activities, root cause analysis and other Supply Chain operations interface and alignment through management.

7) Identify ways to reduce costs through streamlined and standardized processes/procedures.

8) Perform metric trending, reporting, analysis and benchmarking.

8) Assume single-point accountability for developing controlled documents for the applicable functional area.

9) Ensure review of policies, procedures and processes by affected personnel prior to submission to final approver.

10) Lead and/or actively participate in Organizational Change Management to ensure implementation and sustainability of new or changed processes and procedures.
