About the Opportunity The Higher Ed IT Analyst provides technology expertise to unit initiatives, provides project and product leadership with a focus on CFNC electronic high school transcripts, supports CFNC users in their use and implementation of CFNC tools, and collaborates on CFNC technology resources with educators and partners in the development, testing, and improvement.
As a staff member of the CFNC Pathways Program at the UNC System Office, this position plays a critical role in planning and delivering a range of online tools and resources to help students plan and apply for college. This includes academic and career planning resources as well as tools such as online applications and electronic high school transcripts. Pathways serves students through the CFNC.org website with contact center support, K-12 educators through the online CFNC ProTools platform with ticketing support, and college admission and IT professionals through the online CFNC CrossConnect platform with ticketing support. This position is a hybrid work arrangement and will work at least 3 days per week at the CFNC Pathways office located on UNC Greensboro's campus. Hours are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with occasional night and weekend responsibilities as needed. About the Team CFNC Pathways is part of the Academic Affairs division of the UNC System Office with a primary purpose of increasing college access for North Carolinians. It provides a wide variety of career and college planning services through the College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) brand in collaboration with the NC Department of Public Instruction, the NC Community College System, the NC Independent Colleges and Universities, the University of North Carolina System, the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority, and College Foundation, Inc. (non-profit). CFNC Pathways is administered by the University of North Carolina System Office, and staff members are responsible for the overall vision and support of the planning and applying sections of CFNC.org, which includes online admission applications, electronic high school transcripts from NC public high schools to over 100 NC colleges, as well as career and academic planning resources. Academic Affairs leads in the development and implementation of the academic mission of the University, to include: advising the President and Board on academic affairs issues of University-wide importance; leading strategic academic planning and the implementation of resulting policies; collaborating with chancellors, chief academic officers, and faculty on University-wide academic initiatives; implementing the academic portion of the University's strategic plan; and providing oversight and management of student affairs; data & analytics; academic programs, faculty, and research; digital learning, regulatory affairs, international affairs, and PBS NC. Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills Master's and 1-2 years' experience; or Bachelors and 2-4 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution. Required Competencies *Progressive experience in web technologies such as HTML/CSS, JavaScript, leveraging APIs, XML, and business analysis *Experience in data transfer technologies, preferably transcript and admission application data *Strong experience in technology project management, planning, and delivery of quality services/products *Appreciation for a collaborative and innovative work environment *Excellent communication skills *Ability to work independently and in a team context *Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills *Experience in data conversion, programming, and understanding of multiple means of data transfer *Familiarity with higher education technology environment *Commitment to student access and success
