The Opportunity:

Our team in Batavia is looking for an exceptional person to join their warehouse team as a Material Handler! In this role, warehouse material handlers are responsible for moving parts and materials between production areas by lifting or otherwise moving raw materials and parts. Prepares and coordinates schedules for pulling and delivering materials to control the flow of goods and regulate production floor space. Safely operates appropriate equipment (forklifts, hoists, cranes, etc.) required to move materials along the production floor. The schedule is Monday through Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm CST. Occasional overtime is required. Pay is $20 per hour.

What we're looking for:

  • Education: High School completion or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience: OSHA forklift and HAZMAT certification are a plus, as is a minimum of one year of Crown forklift experience. Experience with a reach truck is also a plus.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Comfortable working at elevated heights while using reach/lift trucks in a warehouse setting.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.
    • Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies, and procedures.
    • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel, preferred.

How you will thrive and create an impact:

Warehouse material handlers' essential duties are to perform various tasks in the warehouse such as but not limited to:

  • Inbound: Unload trucks, trailers, and freight containers, count products, and compare to the manifest to check all shipments for damage, infestation, or production code dates. Material handlers must report shortages, damages, and Mis-shipments on appropriate forms. They must also be able to sign for inbound shipments when necessary. All inbound shipments are moved safely to storage locations to be efficiently stacked as store merchandise.
  • Order Picking: Ensure that the correct product number, quantity, and type (lot, batch, serial number) are picked. Transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with material handling equipment, such as, but not limited to, fork trucks, cherry pickers, or pallet jacks. Materials handlers must be able to label, stencil, tag, mark orders, band, bundle, wrap, overpack, and palletize as required.
  • Outbound: Compare quantity, labeling, and address with order to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and correct. Assign signatures for outbound shipments, as necessary. Efficiently move products, cartons, and pallets into trailers, rail cars, or containers.
  • Equipment: Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Inventory: Keep accurate records and reports. Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts. Ensure proper stock rotation. May key inventory adjustments in computer.
  • Other Duties: Repack or re-box cases per customer instructions. Repair and consolidate damaged goods as required. Operate a shrink-wrap machine. Charge the forklift battery as needed; stack and separate good from bad pallets when necessary; clean railcars, trailers, truck docks, and bays as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
