Summary Responsible for assisting with customer service and building maintenance for all activities, events and services scheduled at PARD facilities. Salary $14.69 - $18.14 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide quality customer service to the public as required to give information regarding programs, schedules, facility reservations in person and over the phone. Register participants for programs and activities utilizing the registration software. Reserve facility utilizing reservation software. Provide on-site facility supervision in absence of other staff. Enforce and maintain City and Departmental policies as needed. Interpret and relate departmental rules and policies. Assist with set up and break down of facility for programs, classes and activities. Maintain proper administrative forms. Maintain a clean and safe building by sweeping, mopping, picking up litter, etc. Assist in control of equipment and supplies. Works department and City special events
Minimum Qualifications
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Preferred Qualifications Education/ Experience:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
General knowledge of various recreational activities and the ability to communicate. General knowledge of various methods in supervising software programs Skill in basic first aid and CPR procedures Skill to operate equipment and perform physical work as required. Skill to operate office equipment, computers, telephones, and photocopiers. Skill in utilizing tools required for technical and custodial work. Ability to organize recreation activities. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to work without continuous supervision.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Class C Texas driver's license City of Garland Defensive Driving Certification within 6 months of hire First Aid, AED & CPR certifications within 6 months FEMA Courses 100 & 700 within 6 months
Physical Requirements / Work Environment Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work. Incumbent is exposed to hazardous conditions while using cleansing chemicals. Physical tasks will include working with tools, lifting, squatting, climbing, bending, stooping, walking, and carrying supplies, as needed, to accomplish the tasks of the activity on a daily basis. This is a Part Time position limited to working 1,000 hrs. in a 12-month period.
