LSSI is hiring a full-timeIndividual Resiliency Training (IRT) Therapist to be part of our First Episode Psychosis team, an evidence-based model proven to drastically improve outcomes for young people experiencing psychosis and decrease the chances for long-term mental health needs. The IRT Therapist plans, develops, coordinates, and provides treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to clients at the beginning of their mental health journey. In addition, the IRT Therapists work in a wrap-around model to provide therapy, education, and consultation to clients and their families as they learn and grow with their diagnosis.

EssentialFunctions:

  • Provide individual therapy and symptom management using the Individual Resiliency Training curriculum and other evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in weekly consultation calls designed to provide clinical support for treating clients with first-episode psychosis.
  • Assume primary responsibility for collaboratively developing, writing, implementing, evaluating, and revising treatment goals and plans.
  • Provide culturally-competent, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and measurement-based care for 20-30 assigned FEP clients.
  • Help the team complete an initial comprehensive assessment.
  • If at any time the client endorses symptoms of depression or verbalizes thoughts of suicide (or team members suspect client is experiencing suicidality), complete suicide screenings and provide support as clinically indicated.

Position Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or psychology required.
  • LCSW or LCPC required.
  • Three years of experience providing mental health services to youth or young adults with serious mental health challenges OR two years of direct service experience in early psychosis program.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to establish trusting, hopeful relationships with clients and their families.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing evidence-based practices to fidelity.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and respect differences of opinion, beliefs, culture, appearances and ways of life.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation and pc/computer skills (including proficiency with Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Current Illinois Driver's License and excellent driving record and active minimum liability insurance.
