- Ensure safe work practices are followed in all aspects of daily activities
- Perform scheduled services on equipment including lubricating moving parts and operate repaired equipment to verify conformance to manufacturer specifications
- Disassembles, remove, replace, inspect, and performs repairs and rebuilds of defective parts on forklifts, including but not limited to the following components: ignition systems, wheel alignment, power trains, hydraulics, and fuel systems
- Maintain, install, change, or recharges batteries
- Continuously observes forklift operations to proactively identify deficiencies and service issues
- Assist in education of the pre and post-trip inspections
- Maintain accountability of shop operations including, but not limited to the following tasks: Documenting/updating work orders statuses, parts ordering, inventory control, customer communication and managing quality control
- Tests all completed work for quality and adherence to established procedures/specifications
- Knowledge of proper procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials
Skills/Knowledge
- Ability to maintain forklift certification.
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions and to write intelligible reports.
- Knowledge of plant lay out including location of materials.
- Plant safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be certified by C&W to operate fork-lift before he/she can be put to work.
Experience
- 1+ years of previous industrial material handling experience in a manufacturing facility preferred, Training is available to candidates based on applicant experience in related fields.
- Stand Up Fork Truck experience a Plus
