The Family Centered Care/Nursery Unit is a warm comforting environment for families to encourage bonding and celebration. The Assistant Director of Patient Care is responsible for staff performance and the accomplishment of department responsibilities in accord with corporate, hospital, department, and safe policies and procedures to meet both company and regulatory requirements. Responsible for providing high-quality patient care, for promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, and for promoting internal and external customer satisfaction. Ensures the efficient operation of the department and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs. The Assistant Director will help support adherence to standards of quality control, financial budgeting.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- At least 2 years acute care nursing experience or 2 years acute care nursing experience with preview management experience
- Completion of all Orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
- Successful completion of all orientation programs
Preferred:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or currently matriculating
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Scheduling Requirements:
- Full Time
- Evening
- 37.5 hrs. weekly
- 6:30pm-7:30am
Essential Functions:
Ensures that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients and his/her nursing units in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital. Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education. Provides input into evaluation of staff performance in accordance with organization policies. Participates in nursing Quality Improvement. Assists with unit administration, including scheduling, payroll and maintenance of supplies and equipment. Maintains and role models clinical skills necessary to provide care to patients. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment and care. Ensures that the unit is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.
