The Opportunity: The Engineer II performs tests of hardware for UCF researchers or external customers using laboratory test equipment. They are also responsible for maintenance of the laboratory test equipment. The Engineer II works with researchers on proposal activities, either by producing conceptual designs or by reviewing existing designs and recommending improvements. The Engineer II will also support researchers on sponsored projects by designing and building sub-systems and systems to meet design requirements, performing testing of those sub-systems and systems, and contributing expertise to technical reports and presentations to sponsoring agencies. Provides mentoring and training to students working on sponsored projects. Other duties as assigned.
