Program Coordinator - Orthopaedic Surgery

Creighton University is seeking to hire a Program Coordinator for the Graduate Medical Education office.

The GME Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operational management of the Orthopedics training program. This is a new program in its development stages and is set to start with residents on July 1, 2026. In collaboration with Program Directors and reporting to the GME Institutional Manager, the position requires following the details of national accreditation policies and hospital policies.

The GME Program Coordinator will coordinate virtual and in-person meetings to facilitate the ACGME application process and subspecialty application, create, review, and upload required documents such as block diagrams, evaluation forms, faculty CVs, program policies, and site information into the ACGME WebADS system. Once the program is approved, they will manage recruitment, orientation, and set up of the residency management suite.

This position will start based at CUMC Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE, and will move to the CHI Lakeside Hospital in July 2026. We may offer flexible scheduling after the initial orientation period, as outlined in our flexible work schedule standard operating procedure.

Key Responsibilities



  • Support the Program Director and program faculty and staff to perform duties, including communication, scheduling, and correspondence with house staff, students, faculty from other departments, health care professionals who serve as clinician preceptors and others
  • General office duties including mail distribution, answering phones, ordering office supplies, taking notes, creating agendas, and compiling minutes for various meetings and schedule lectures, appointments, travel, and meetings
  • Serve as the first point of contact and liaison for communication with the program, answering general program email and phone inquiries, data entry, operational logistics and training
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving when complex situations arise
  • Assist in organizing and planning program activities such as graduation, orientation, and White Coat ceremonies, and manage confidential house staff information
  • Assist with orienting and giving logistical assistance to new learners in the department
  • Organize and prepare data and reports for accreditation processes and current program and house staff evaluation processes
  • Some travel may be required for professional meetings



Qualifications



  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required
  • Administrative office experience, preferably in a healthcare and/or medical education setting
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ability to manage multitasking and high-level complex scheduling, action lists and timelines with high-level accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills, Project Management skills/experience
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize work with multiple and conflicting demands in a deadline-oriented environment
