Corrugator Operator

Summary of Job

The Corrugator Operator will be responsible for the corrugating process, from Raw Materials to Finished Goods, and by leading a team of 3 on the Machine. The Corrugator Operator ensures the quality of the products being produced is within the Company standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The right candidate will lead their job with a strong safety mindset including but not limited to:

* Ensure that all company safety procedures are followed to include OSHA compliance guidelines.

* Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.

* Abide by all company rules and policies regarding conduct and safety.

* Prepare and make batches of starch, monitor levels of starch as needed.

* Check basis weight and width of roll stock before placing it on roll stands.

* Set correct adjustment on pressure roll and corrugating rolls.

* Set up next flute change, well in advance, if possible.

* Clean glue tray after every flute change, and at the end of shift.

* Ensure efficient running of machine to give maximum productivity at the same time maintaining quality.

* Advise Maintenance department of any machine problems affecting the machine's production efficiencies and product quality.

* Drive forklift to set rolls at the corrugator.

* Prepares roll stock for running with as little waste as possible.

* Train other team members to pass on knowledge and expertise.

Competency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)

* Knowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset.

* Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace.

* Good math, language, reading skills.

* Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.

* Excellent teamwork skills.

* Knowledge of warehouse arrangement and functionality.

Environment

* Exposure to moving equipment.

* Inside work

* Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

* Humidity may exceed 80%

* Noise may exceed 85dB+

Physical Characteristics

* Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%

* Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 60 pounds)

* Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed.

Position Type

* Full time

Education and Experience

* High school diploma/GED.

* 2+ years' experience operating a Corrugator Machine.

* Forklift certification per OSHA standards.

* At least 18 years of age to operate a forklift.
