Mental Health Scheduling Coordinator - Temporary

Overview

The Mental Health Scheduling Coordinator position provides coverage in the Staffing Office at the Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital. The Staffing Office is open 24/7 and responsible for ensuring adequate staffing of the Nursing Staff on the inpatient psychiatric units and the satellite secure residential facility among other related duties. It is considered an essential position due to the nature of the work and is required to have an employee present at all times.

This temporary position would be filling available shifts due to vacations and other time off for the permanent Mental Health Scheduling Coordinators with some possibility for regular coverage. Available shifts would vary with shift hours on Night Shift (6:30pm-7:00am) and Day Shift (6:30am-7:00pm). There is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours and the maximum number of hours allowed in a year is 1280 hours.

Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Environmental Factors

Duties are generally performed in a standard office setting but may require working on one of the DMH Treatment Facility patient units as needed. Some work outside of regular work schedule may be required. There may be periods of heavy workloads and tight deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.

OR

Two years of full-time college coursework OR associate's degree AND two (2) years or more performing administrative level duties in a health care, employment and training, or government setting.

OR

High School diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more performing administrative level duties in a health care, employment and training, or government setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with work schedule coordination or coordination of staffing in large scale operations.
