Bolton & Menk has a great opportunity for a Senior Construction Project Representative (CPR) to join our team in in our Raleigh office. As a member of our Construction Services team you will review construction activities for their compliance with the project plans and specifications, prepare daily observation reports, and assist in preparing the proper project documentation. Our Senior CPRs enjoy building a team atmosphere with the construction contractor to deliver an exceptional product for the client and community. This role will include a focus on construction observation for a variety of project types and may also include detailed engineering computations, detailed drafting and plan production in Civil3D software. What You Will Be Doing:
- Serve as construction project representative for construction projects having above average complexity
- Assist with design and construction phase activities on municipal and land development projects
- Prepare cost and quantity take-off estimates
- Perform engineering project design and drafting from working sketches and field data in Civil3D software
- Actively participate in the development and preparation of plans and specifications for projects
- Provide technical advice regarding construction modifications and repairs to clients, contractors, and project engineers
- Construction observation and administration activities including construction staking, documenting contractor activities, measuring and testing, inspections, and interacting with contractors, sub-contractors, residents and City staff
What We Are Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent degree) plus four (4) years of related experience OR ten (10) years of related construction experience
- Must be capable of working in extended outdoor conditions and you must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the construction observation duties
- Working knowledge of state and local specifications, general provisions, and standard plates, preferred
- Thorough knowledge of design and construction techniques and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge in project related regulatory, funding and legal requirements.
- Exceptional interpersonal written & verbal communication skills.
- Exemplary time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. (MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge and skills in CAD and design software. (i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D, Microstation)
- Must possess a valid drivers license and your own transportation. You will be reimbursed for business-related travel.
