The Sr. Associate, Sales for Target is a key contributor to our long-term strategy and is responsible for profitable business growth of customers in the region. This role is responsible for all customer activities specifically for the laundry category, including but not limited to owning buyer relationship, sell in of new items during category reviews, new item set up, target.com image set up, forecasting, promotion planning, trade budget, etc. This role will also support the Sales Manager of with administrative assistance. The Sr. Associate Sales will have the opportunity to grow through a variety of experiences and a general management approach to the business. This team member will have a significant amount of freedom to demonstrate leadership, high-impact decision making, strategic planning and customer relationship management.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The Sr. Associate Target will:

  • Account Management
    • Build, prioritize and manage multiple objectives, including top line sales, distribution, trade spend, promotional effectiveness, merchandising, and customer engagement
    • Successfully sell in brand innovation at Target while maintaining existing distribution
    • Build rapid, strong relationships based on credibility and trust across multiple layers of management; elevate presence within customer's hierarchy
    • Spend within trade budget, assess plan for effectiveness, and make appropriate adjustments
    • Deeply understand the strategic purpose of our brands as well as our customer's strategies to bridge and drive long term profitable growth for both parties
    • Be the "voice of retailer" for planning new product launches and other ad hoc business developments as needed as well as leading the forecasting process with Finance and Operations
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years relevant experience OR advanced degree with 1+ year relevant experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a sales capacity with Target
  • Experience with account management and or in setting up new accounts.
  • Experience applying negotiating and selling techniques.
  • Growth mindset always looking for new opportunities to pursue and comfortable navigating unknown territories.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to excel in remote sales environment.
  • Excellent effective communication/collaboration
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight timeframes and deadlines.
  • Ability to independently assess data, integrate into selling stories and leverage it to grow our business.
  • Strong technical skills: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Web and other required computer applications

* This is a full time home office-based role, located in Minneapolis, MN close to Target HQ
