Description

Lutheran Social Services of WI and Upper MI is currently seeking a part-time Transportation Aide to join our Veterans Housing and Recovery Program in Green Bay, WI! The Veterans Housing and Recovery Program (VHRP) works with veterans to provide temporary housing, trainings, supportive services, education, counseling, and rehabilitative services. This position will require you to transport clients to work, medical appointments, etc. in the community.

This is a part-time, 20 - 30 hour per week role that will require you to transport clients using a company van, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 AM - 5 PM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
* Drives individuals to and from pre-determined locations and assists them getting in and out of the vehicle.
* Completes simple maintenance and housekeeping on program vehicle such as: arranges for oil changes, washing of the van, and routine services.
* May assist and/or transfer individuals who may have limited mobility or use wheel chairs.
* Interacts with individuals, caregivers, and program staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Upon offer, candidates must successfully complete the necessary background, caregiver, medical and any other checks required, according to program requirements. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalency is preferred. Knowledge of traffic laws, proper driver safety techniques and defensive driving.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
* Must have a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to perform the essential duties of the role; a motor vehicle check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record per the LSS Driver Safety Procedure is required, and ability to meet LSS auto insurance requirements.
* First Aid training, and CPR Certificate (when required) preferred but may be required to obtain after hire.

TRAVEL: Daily travel may be required.
