JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Dermatology, in Hershey, PA is seeking an innovative and highly driven Researcher (Non-Tenure Track Faculty) who will work with our translational dermatology research team (PI: Amanda Nelson) and in collaboration with our clinical and basic science dermatology research teams. The successful applicant will hold a PhD in cellular or molecular biology and have 5+ years experience in skin biology and physiology. Research in the Nelson lab uses molecular and cellular biology techniques including DNA and RNA isolation, qRT-PCR, RNA-sequencing, luciferase reporter assays, ELISAs, primary cell and tissue culture (human), protein purification, immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, histology, flow cytometry, as well as skin processing and isolation of skin cells. The candidate is required to perform experiments and analyses independently, but also contribute to multiple research projects within the collaborative research group. This position also has lab responsibilities including equipment maintenance, budget management, ordering responsibilities and general lab oversight with Dr. Nelson. The candidate must also help supervise and train postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and medical students within the lab. This is a limited-termnon-tenure lineposition funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.
