Description
Position Summary Operates the Electronic Cutter to meet quality, productivity, waste and safety goals. Essential Job Function Uses production schedule to determine material to be cut. Feeds roll of material into machine and cycles the machine. Pulls material after each cycle and sets measurement marks. Electronically cuts material. Locates defects in material and either cuts out or discards. Stacks material onto skids. Stamps operator code on shipping label or stock label identifying product has passed inspection. Re-wraps, re-labels and places remnant rolls into appropriate storage location. Continuously monitors the quality of the product to insure that it meets quality standards. Performs finished goods pack-out and finished goods quality inspection. Completes daily scrap and box tracking report. Assists in maintaining department in accordance with good housekeeping practices. Observes all safety and environmental procedures. Performs other duties as requested by supervision. Completes daily scrap and box tracking report. Job Qualifications Ability to read, write, and perform basic math. Ability to read and use a tape measure. Initiative and ability to work with limited supervision, given proper instructions. Ability to competently operate personal computer terminal. Physical Demands Rarely (0% to 33%) Occasionally (34% to 66%) Frequently (67% to 100%) Rarely carries, pushes, sits, reclines, squats, kneels, walks, climbs, balances, crawls, or reaches above shoulder. Occasionally lifts less than 70 pounds, pulls with one hand, and reaches below the waist. Frequently stands, pulls with two hands, crouches and reaches horizontal. Working Conditions Rarely (0% to 33%) Occasionally (34% to 66%) Frequently (67% to 100%) Rarely deals with the outside, low humidity, wetness, slippery surfaces, vibration, confined space, high elevation, noise, chemical irritant, oil, odors, explosives, electrical hazards, or toxic conditions. Occasionally deals with high temperature, high humidity, and low temperature. Frequently deals with the inside, and moving objects. Equipment Used This job uses scissors, tape measure, electronic cutter machine, utility knife, tape gun, air stapler, and computer.
