About the Opportunity
The Microwave Technician is responsible for the overall monitoring and maintenance of the microwave distribution system of PBSNC, which includes following all electrical and RF principles and practices, and complying with all federal, state, and FCC safety compliance measures. The microwave system is divided into east and west territories due to its extensive size and geographical limitations imposed. This Microwave Technician is designated for the western region as the area of primary responsibility and can be based out of anywhere in the western half of the state. However, the technician must be available for statewide response as necessary.

UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

About the Team
The PBS North Carolina Technology Division is
responsible for the operations and maintenance of the statewide broadcast
network and studio production infrastructure.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
High school diploma or equivalency and completion of a
two-year technical school program in electronics; or equivalent combination of
training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately
accredited institutions.
