Job Purpose

Honda Aero LLC in Burlington, NC is in search of a member to be part of a team responsible for the equipment Service, who will support the overall maintenance of the manufacturing production equipment. Provide technical repair & maintenance support to all HAI groups, including safety, health and environmental programs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Performs maintenance on manufacturing production equipment.
  • Wil also support facility buildings, equipment, and grounds maintenance as needed.
  • Ability to develop and implement equipment repairs to meet business needs and applicable Federal and State regulations.
  • Support HAI's equipment preventative maintenance program while adjusting to the continuously changing priorities of the production departments.
  • Work with team to prepare scope of work, secure estimates, and obtain cost quotes as needed.
  • Maintain up to date records in support of any HAI, federal, state, local and insurance-related periodic and annual inspections.
  • Support arrangement and monitoring of appropriate third-party contractor support, as needed.
  • Be proficient in utilizing shop tools to perform repair and maintenance functions.
  • Utilize maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
  • Support installation, modification, relocation, and removal of equipment and materials.

Key Accountabilities 2

  • Diagnoses equipment problems, replaces and repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric test equipment, analysis tools, and material handling equipment in performance of duties.
  • Works well within a team environment and is flexible with work hours, overtime, shifts, weekend work, holiday work, travel, etc.
  • Utilizes appropriate safety devices for work performed.
  • Provides technical safety and health support and information to HAI safety director.
  • Assists with implementation and maintenance of controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
  • May serve as a member of HAI's Safety Committee and perform tasks related to Honda's Green House Gas and other Environmental initiatives.
  • Keeps in compliance with all OSHA regulations.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Ability to be flexible with job assignments and able to quickly master new tasks.
  • Basic understanding of safety/ergonomics to incorporate practices during all work processes.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Education/Experience:



  • High school diploma or GED.
  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance/engineering a plus.
  • Minimum of five years of equipment maintenance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • IPG Laser Systems, Siemens CNC, Allen Bradley PLC, Fanuc/Kuka Robotic experience a plus.

Knowledge

  • Experience/Knowledge in building and/or equipment maintenance and a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, establish, and control drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Experience with analysis of technical issues in area of expertise.
  • Computer skills to utilize MES (Manufacturing Execution System), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and equipment monitoring/control systems for PM management, analysis, and documentation.
  • Basic understanding of root cause analysis/investigative tools and systems.
  • Advanced electrical knowledge (up to 480VAC). Understanding of how to apply electrical skills to PLC's, CNC's, Robots, Servo Systems, Electrical Systems, as well as mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair skills to these machine components.
  • Familiarity with regulatory agency requirements (ANSI/RIA R15.06, OSHA regulations, NEC Code, NFPA-70E and NFPA-79) to assure compliance.

Job Related Specific Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to use shop hand and power tools.
  • Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and industrial skills.
  • Ability to make judgments/proposals on findings within documented guidelines.
  • Ability to interface with all types of mechanical, electrical and all other contractors.
  • Ability to use trouble-shooting skills within area of expertise.
  • Ability to apply analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to support continuous improvement.


Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work within an international environment.
