Job Purpose

  • Digital Marketing department is working to build customer loyalty by improving customer satisfaction and creating promoters. We will transform the customer experience across all channels and improve associate & dealer experience through the improvement of systems, processes, and capabilities.   • The Product Owner will create and manage action plans and milestones independently, for small to medium scale product(s). This role translates the wishes of stakeholders into understandable language for the Development Team to interpret and take action. This leadership role also sets direction and prioritizes work, removing impediments when necessary.
  • This role will lead Agile Product Team within the Digital Marketing Department. Responsibilities include: Represent and advocate for the Business in strategic planning, product development and solution management that are in alignment with stakeholder AHM Business Units (Auto Honda, Acura, Power Sports Products, Power Equipment, Marine and AHFC) corporate strategies.
  • Working with leadership, owns critical decisions such as business goals, scope, and desired outcomes
  • Delivers high, consistent value (release mgmt.), successful completion of releases
  • This position requires extensive collaboration with AHM associates, IT, consultants, contingent workforce, and vendors.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create, manage and cultivate product team plans:

    • Manage and prioritize backlog and product development details. Maintaining release velocity.
    • Support Release Train and scrum team of smaller scale products via Product Increment (PI) planning, managing the product definition and implementation.
    • Prioritize and manage backlog and implementation, ensure product execution meets strategy and requirements and refine features into user stories and story acceptance criteria.
    • Plan product sprint cycles to deliver business value, enhance product performance and achieving product /KPIs that support enterprise OKRs.
    • Maintain quality standards and process documentation, lead Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives for the product team.




  • Lead Product Development and Operation as Product Owner:

    • Takes full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of small to medium scale products (with business impact and firm deadlines).
    • Identifies, assesses, and manages risk to the success of the Product. Ensures that realistic development/sprint plans are maintained and ensures regular and accurate communication to stakeholders.
    • Ensures quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure.
    • Ensures that Sprint and release deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets.
    • Provides effective leadership to the Product team, and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
    • Reviews analysis and performance monitoring for specified products. Supports problem resolution, resolves issues and acts on feedback and usage of in-life products.
    • Contributes to product collateral and monitors results and feedback from product launches.




  • Advance agile processes:

    • Contribute to the enterprise's Agile transformation by adopting and spreading knowledge of agile principles and processes.



Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience supported by subject matter training
  • 5-8 years of professional experience in the field of project/product management, software development or relevant customer experience technologies or services
  • 1-3 years experience in an Agile environment
  • 1-3 years of experience in consumer or dealer facing software design and development
  • Requires and applies a knowledge of business, product performance and industry principles, practices, and procedures
  • Knowledge of or experience in working cross-functionally ideally with a variety of different domains, including IT, Finance, and Business Development
  • Work experience in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Experience on agile teams as Business Analyst or Scrum Master
  • Experience with JIRA or similar tool
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Curious, questioning skills to gain understanding and build support
  • Automotive OEM experience helpful
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical, organizational and project coordination skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers as well as non-technical and technical personnel
  • Ability to work effectively with AHM staff, IT staff, 3rd party vendor staff
  • Ability to collect business requirements, recommend or make decisions on business requirements/interdependencies
  • Ability to present recommendations to varying stakeholders to educate and gain support or approvals
  • Ability to interact with other Honda company's personnel, builds strong relationships at all levels and across all business units and organizations, and understands business imperatives
