This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla and remote.

DESCRIPTION

UC San Diego Health Sciences encompasses UC San Diego Health, the region's only academic health system, UC San Diego School of Medicine, one of the nation's top research-intensive medical schools, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Southern California's first public school of pharmacy, and Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science. The division of Medical Education within the UC San Diego School of Medicine consists of the following units: Undergraduate Medical Education, Admissions & Student Affairs, Diversity and Community Partnerships, Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education & Faculty Development, Simulation Education, Physician Assistant Education, Anatomical Services, Business Affairs and Educational Technology. The division supports the education, training and co-curricular activities of approximately 560 medical students, 90 physician assistant students, 1000 residents and fellows as well as the faculty, physician and healthcare providers at UCSD's School of Medicine, its' Medical Centers, and affiliates.

The Undergraduate Medical Education Analyst uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies, and procedures. This role researches, analyzes, and develops solutions to a wide range of issues within the medical education domain, primarily dealing with complex and diverse policies, programs, and proposals. Demonstrating sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions, the Analyst develops new programs, policies, or procedures for possible implementation to support continuous improvement in educational management.

The Analyst will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of the education management system used within the undergraduate medical education department. This role will work closely with faculty, students, course coordinators, and administrative staff to ensure the effective use of the system for managing various aspects of the medical school curriculum, including scheduling, evaluations, and reporting. Additionally, the Analyst will provide data analysis, reporting, and training to optimize system utilization and ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or related area plus three years of related experience/training.

  • Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

  • Analytical / problem-solving skills.

  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.

  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

  • Strong policy analysis techniques.

  • Prior experience with education management systems or similar platforms in an academic setting.

  • Proficient in data management and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree preferred.

  • Familiarity with accreditation requirements (e.g., LCME).

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $69,500 - $123,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $33.29 - $59.15

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
