Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Must possess five (5) years of experience in managing an accounting function
  • Requires intermediate knowledge and experience with financial/PC based accounting system(s)
  • Oversees and leads the continued development of budgeting, financial forecasting, and key performance metrics aligned with strategic initiatives.
  • Analysis utilization and contract performance as well as suggest alternative revenue or operational changes to enhance financial performance.
  • Supports the budgeting process to include all annual operational budgets, financial forecasting and planning, cost reporting, interpreting trends and variances of financial results.
  • Oversees and monitors the financial forecasts, financial models, and cost.
  • Generates and performs monthly financial statement analysis and work with appropriate programs for any corrective action, if necessary.
  • Provides input and strategic solutions to assist business partners in being fiscal stewards throughout operations; advises senior leadership on existing and evolving operating/financial issues.
  • Analyzes complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes; exercises sound judgement and makes well informed decisions
  • Remains apprised of information and technology impacting the financial functional area to increase innovation and ensure compliance; possesses strong knowledge of GAAP and the nonprofit business environment.
  • Communicates financial concepts in a clear and productive manner that is easy to understand and drives desired behaviors; listens effectively and facilitates open communication and exchange of ideas.
  • Provides standard and ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed; possesses strong analytical skills and the ability to detect variances, gaps and financial trends and proposes actions to ensure budget compliance.
  • May be required to travel to agency locations in the Chicagoland area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in a business, financial, or related field required
  • Master's degree in a business, financial, or related field preferred
