Summary of Job Duties:The Director of Vocational Counseling (Counselor) is an essential member of the Student Services and UAM College of Technology-McGehee team. The Counselor is responsible for a host of critical student support services, including but not limited to the entire recruitment and enrollment cycle, mental health services, intrusive academic support, student activities, and other student retention initiatives. Qualifications:

A master's degree in counseling is required with a minimum of five years counseling experience in education; counseling licensure is highly preferred. Experience and knowledge of higher education/student success policies and practices is also highly preferred. Must have exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Candidate must be able to work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, educational partners, and external agencies and organizations. Must have proficient computer skills, good organizational skills, the ability to pay careful attention to policy details, and must be able to work a flexible schedule to provide evening services.
