This role offers a flexible schedule, NO weekends and plays a huge role in your local community!

As a Senior Cook, you will prepare quality meals using LSS menus and recipes to serve to congregate, Meals on Wheels (MOW) and to ship in bulk to satellite sites. You will order and receive food and supplies, direct kitchen/dining room cleaning and sanitation and work with site manager(s), kitchen staff, and volunteers to ensure a smooth delivery system. You will also provide direction, supervision, and training to kitchen staff and assist with hiring new staff.

Job Requirements:


  • A minimum of one year of experience in a full-service kitchen in a long term care facility, school, or restaurant.
  • Knowledge of quantity cooking: the ability to follow standardized recipes and convert measurements to accommodate the number of meals needed.
  • Knowledge of all kitchen equipment and utensils usage.
  • Knowledge of Health Department regulations.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions, train, supervise, and direct site staff and volunteers.
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification; may be obtained after hire.
