Job Description

  • Monitor and track position funding, ensuring accurate allocation of General Revenue Allocation (GRA) funds for each position. Maintain oversight of changes to ensure they are properly documented and balanced
  • Complete campus-wide budget and accounting projects involving data collection, review, reconciliation, audit, analysis and reporting of campus financial data. Assist in finance system set up, maintenance, and monitoring system processes. Assist in collection of information explaining variances in financial data from year to year
  • Support campus management, division fiscal officers and campus community to retrieve and analyze financial data, design reports to meet various internal and external ad hoc reporting needs
  • Additionally provide assistance, training, and guidance to the campus community regarding financial matters
  • Supervise, monitor, and help build the campus annual operating budget. Recommend and collaborate in the formulation of procedures and guidelines relating to campus budgets, along with performing necessary analysis, developing and distributing reports on the General Allocation Budget
  • Maintain campus capital asset financial database. Prepare monthly and yearly capital asset reconciliations. Work with campus community and UM System to accurately account for capital asset purchases
  • Calculate accounting entries and create routine and non-routine journal entries. Work with campus community to make changes and corrections to financial transactions when necessary
  • Assist in the Accounting department team's efforts in closing the campus books for the fiscal year
  • Complete yearly analysis of campus Unrelated Business Income (UBI). Prepare documentation to be included in University UBI tax return
  • Assist in completing NCAA AUP annual financial report and Annual Report to the President on Intercollegiate Athletics per Executive Order 29
  • Represent campus in University system wide meetings. Serve as an active participant on campus and system wide committees. Participate in testing of budget and accounting upgrades and enhancements
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • University experience
  • Experience using finance databases and reporting system such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Workday
  • Experience in retrieving, analyzing and reporting financial information
  • Demonstrated expertise in using Excel, Outlook, and Teams
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,223 to $73,000 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
