Job Description

The CRM and Data Analytics Expert is embedded in the Division of Advancement and part of the Advancement Services team. They will take direction from the AVC Advancement Services for day-to-day operations. This position serves as the subject matter expert for managing and enhancing the CRM system used by University Advancement. The role focuses on ensuring data integrity, managing system integrations, implementing new features, and providing detailed reports and analytics to support operational needs. This position requires deep technical expertise in CRM management, data integration, and reporting, as well as the ability to collaborate with internal teams to solve technical problems and optimize processes. The position is essential to advancing strategic operations, with a focus on accelerating business processes and supporting the campaign.

Key Responsibilities
CRM System Management

  • Oversee the daily maintenance and operation of the CRM system, ensuring efficient performance.
  • Maintain system integrity and perform regular audits in cooperation with the Data Management team.
  • Troubleshoot CRM-related issues, resolving technical problems for end-users, and providing hands-on support.
  • Document CRM workflows, customizations, and configurations for future reference.

Data Integration & Maintenance

  • Manage the integration of the CRM with third-party systems, ensuring smooth and accurate data exchanges.
  • Perform regular data cleaning and maintain data transfer processes for operational efficiency.
  • Ensure real-time updates between systems to support operational needs.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop customized reports and dashboards using SQL, PowerBI, and other reporting tools.
  • Provide ad hoc reports to support data-driven decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Maintain canned reporting systems for access to relevant data across platforms, whether in CRM or self-service reports in PowerBI.
  • Learn and master Advancement terms and best practices to ensure the accuracy and relevance of all reporting.

Strategic Operations

  • Produce strategic, value-added technology solutions for end-users to address organizational challenges and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Advancement and campus colleagues to identify technological opportunities that support and guide decision-making through data-driven analytics.
  • Support efforts to increase philanthropic goals and constituent engagement by leveraging CRM tools and analytics.
  • Oversee technical systems used by Advancement and develop reports and data visualizations for Advancement staff, College leadership, and volunteers.
  • Act as a key partner in the strategic planning and effective operation of fundraising and engagement programs, ensuring that technology solutions align with the University's broader strategic objectives.
  • Develops and submits Annual Business Plan, identifying key metrics and milestones necessary to achieve annual goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience managing CRM systems, preferably in a higher education or non-profit environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data integration, and CRM customization.
  • Experience in generating complex reports, dashboards, and handling ad hoc data requests.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues and manage system integrations.

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of CRM systems, data integrity practices, and database management.
  • Expertise in SQL, Power BI, and other data reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with higher education CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Blackbaud CRM.
  • Familiarity with fundraising, reporting, and data security standards as provided within CASE, AFP, Apra and AASP guidelines. Experience with data integrations and process automation.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $58,573-$83,304 annual
