PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Our Intern Engineering Technology role is crafted to offer an outstanding and immersive experience for an ambitious and driven Engineering student. You will work alongside an extraordinary team, determined to improve rail safety and operational efficiency through wayside rail inspection technology and flawless execution.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work through different stages of project management from planning, to procurement, field installations, system performance monitoring
  • Engage with stakeholders to determine project requirements and ensure successful implementation through effective communication and teamwork
  • Use your analytical skills to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to improve system performance
  • Travel to different locations to ensure flawless installations and maintain high standards
  • Site visits to audit construction activities and progress
  • Update installation job aids
  • Collaborate with customers, partners, and team members to address repair requests and suggest site improvements.
  • Keep meticulous records of system maintenance schedules and spare parts inventory to ensure seamless operations
  • Conduct detailed data analysis to support decision-making and system improvements.
  • Coordinate the inventory of spare parts, ensuring that stock levels are strictly maintained to meet operational needs
  • Handle the logistics of shipping and receiving equipment and parts, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering Discipline in Electrical Engineering. Mechanical and Industrial Engineering backgrounds will be considered;
  • Must have previous hands on experience working with tools;
  • Previous field experience would be an asset;
  • Strong problem solving skills and decision making skills;
  • Strong data analysis experience required;
  • Must be proficient with MS Excel, experience with SAP or programming languages for data analytics would be an asset;
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills;
  • Strong leadership and technical skills;
  • Must have valid driver's license;
  • Extensive traveling (20%) is required for this position to Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota in spring-fall.Full expenses are covered including flights, meals, hotels and rental cars.
  • Must be able to travel / work in the US
  • Required work hour: 8-5, at least 2 days in person every week in Shoreham, either Monday or Tuesday and Wednesday or Thursday
