JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University, Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), University Park, PA has a Psychologist-Intermediate position starting August 8, 2025. These are generalist positions.

Requirement and Responsibilities

Duties include individual and group psychotherapy, phone triage, initial consultations, outreach, and consultation, as well as urgent consultation/triage/assessment/follow-up and stabilization. These positions are intended to focus on accruing supervised clinical hours for licensure as a psychologist, as well as obtaining advanced generalist training and accruing knowledge and experience in a specialty area. Preference is given to candidates who have experience providing services to diverse populations, such as, but not limited to, underrepresented students, international students, and sexual and/or gender-diverse students. All clinicians on our staff perform their duties while adhering to and promoting trauma-informed care and healing-centered approaches and principles, in alignment with the establishment of the Commonwealth of PA as a trauma-informed, healing-centered state.

Education Requirements

A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and a one-year, full-time doctoral internship in health service psychology are required. APA-accredited training/internship is required. Counseling center experience is preferred.

In addition to the online application process, candidates should also upload 3 letters of reference and transcripts of graduate work. At least two letters should be from supervisors familiar with the applicant's most recent clinical work. At least one letter of reference should be from someone in the applicant's doctoral program.These are fixed-term appointments funded for one year from thedate of hire.

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
