Post Doctoral.Post Doctoral.Associate Med-Pathology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - ( 24005161 ) An exciting career opportunity is immediately available in Dr. Iyer's laboratory in the Department of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh for a postdoctoral research associate. Our lab studies the role of the CD4 T follicular helper cells in generating long-lived antibody responses and seeks to delineate the role of CD4 Th1 cells in HIV induced neuroinflammation. In order to study the immune system, the candidate will contribute to the following projects: 1 Utilizing adjuvanted vaccine constructs to tailor CD4 Tfh responses. 2 Delineate the impact of blocking Th1 cell entry into the CNS on viral seeding and neuroinflammation. Candidates should have a PhD, MD, or DVM degree and be familiar with basic techniques in molecular biology and flow cytometry. Research experience in cell isolation and sorting, tissue imaging, transcriptomics, ELISA is also highly desirable. The candidate is expected to have effective verbal/written communication skills, and at least one first-author publication in one of the areas mentioned above is recommended. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to lead these projects independently, learn new skills, and tackle important scientific questions. Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States. The lab is part of a highly collaborative environment with a track record of excellence in liver research.
