The Role

Supervisor, Warehouse is responsible for the overall day to day supervision of the Warehouse related but not limited to the following activities: receiving, storing, and/or shipping of materials or finished goods. Ensures the security and accountability of materials and goods within inventory control, ensures materials are available to meet production schedules and/or products are shipped as per marketing schedules. Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures and maintains documentation reflecting the effectiveness and efficiency of department's activities. This role is also responsible for ensuring compliance Quality System Regulations (QSRs) associated with the above functions.

This position is located in our office in Carlsbad, CA.

The Responsibilities
  • Supervises the day-to-day operation of the warehousing areas: Shipping and Receiving, Inventory Control departments.

  • Uses Tier Operating Mechanism to set priorities and process performance.

  • Supervises and conducts the receiving processes to ensure prompt receipt, proper tracking and accurate transaction of all materials entering the warehouse. Ensures required receiving documentation is complete, legible and accurate.

  • Supervises and conducts the shipping processes to ensure order accuracy, shipment schedules and package condition specification are achieved. Ensures required shipment paperwork is complete, legible and accurate including but not limited to bill of lading, invoices and picking/packing documents.

  • Supervises the inventory cycle counts within shipping and receiving, off-site locations and is responsible for inventory accuracy and control. Makes variance adjustments if needed.

  • Certifies that products and materials are maintained in proper storage conditions in accordance with their QA requirements. Confirms the appropriate material rotations for the product type (FIFO) in warehousing areas.

  • Provides leadership in improving material flow, implementing lean Warehousing concepts to staff and other company associates.

  • Establishes effective work schedules for warehousing personnel ensuring maximum utilization of available resources.

  • Responsible for motivating and developing staff.

  • Ensures department compliance with established procedures, policies, and GMP guidelines.

  • Responsible to inventory and purchase the consumables for the warehousing areas.

  • Responsible for purchasing shipping and packing supplies.

  • Perform other duties & projects as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

  • Understanding of GMP and FDA procedures.

  • Understanding of traffic, distribution, warehousing, material storage, and inventory control.

  • Knowledge of material control processes and cycle count procedures.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Good verbal communication and writing skills.

  • General knowledge of GMP and FDA procedures.

  • Good managerial skills and goal oriented.

Preferred:

  • College degree and APICS certification desirable.

  • Minimum of 4-7 years of related warehouse and inventory control experience in a lead or supervisor position. Minimum of 2 years management experience.

  • Forklift experience.

The Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of an office, manufacturing, laboratory, and warehouse environment and include handling of viral and bacterial hazards, potentially hazardous chemicals, as well as infectious or potentially infectious bodily fluids, tissues and samples. Up to 75% of time at desk, standing or sitting extended periods of time. Flexible work hours to meet project deadlines.

Physical Demands

Position requires ability to lift up to50 lbs.or more at least 35 % of the dayon a regular basis. Walking, standing, andclimbingfor long periods of time (up to50% of the day) are routine to accomplish tasks in this role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.Must operatea forklift approximately 15% of the time.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $67,000 - 114,000. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
